Angels-Guardians and Protectors

Clipped from www.squidoo.com

Angels

Angels-Guardians and Protectors

Angel means Messenger in many different languages. Angels' form and appearances will vary on the needs and expectations of those requesting help. They are neither male nor female, but can appear as both. They are beings of "Light" energy. They came into being as a link between the Divine and humanity. The messages can be warnings of danger, instructions as to what needs to be done in particular situations, and even to protect us from enemy forces that we may not be able to see with our human eyes.

Although Angels may be viewed differently than Spirit Guides they both have the same purposes. Spirit Guides have been referred to as separate entities that watch, teach, heal, guide and protect you, as well as delivering messages. In my own experiences they both do the same thing for me. So what is the difference? I believe that our Guardian Angel stays with us for as long as we are on this Earth, and our Spirit Guides only stay with us until we are ready to advance into another level of learning. I believe we have many Spirit Guides and have only one Guardian Angel. Regardless, this is not a debate. Everyone us need to believe in what we feel is right for our own journeys.

Butterfly Love

L.O.V.E.

How many times have you spoke the word Love and stared into someone's eyes and see this "Ah" look? How many times have you seen something and your stomach fills with this fluttering feeling like a hundred butterflies are flying around in there?

This morning while I was outside watering some newly planted flowers and tomato plants, I got that feeling in the pit of my stomach that made me feel overwhelmed with this feeling of love. I have spoken a lot on many of my pages about how I feel about Nature and how it makes me feel and how it inspires me. I feel so blessed to be able to be open enough to accept and appreciate all of the be

Yellow Daffodils

The Flower of Spring

For me nothing screams springtime is close like seeing the beautiful little yellow daffodils popping up everywhere. You can be driving down the road and look off to the side of the road and see this beautiful patch of these bright yellow flowers. You can be walking along a path and see these little beauties just popping their heads up through the dirt.

When I was a child attending school up North, we use to make daffodils out of crepe paper and I remember placing the flowers in my bedroom and just becoming thrilled about the thought of spring coming! Of course back than springtime also meant Easter which meant Coconut Cream Eggs and CHOCOLATE bunnies!!! Did I just associate Daffodils with Chocolate and Coconut Cream Eggs?

BPD-Borderline Personality Disorder

This page is dedicated to someone very important in my life! I have decided to created Faeries in honor of BPD Awareness.

Let me begin by explaining that BPD stands for Borderline Personality Disorder. By a vote of 417-0, the House of Representatives on April 1, 2008 passed H.Res. 1005, urging recognition of Borderline Personality Disorder thus making May BPD Awareness Month!

I strongly encourage you to research BPD and become familiar with the syptoms. They are serious, dangerous and in order for people who have BPD to handle life better they need treatment and GroupTherapy.

am not sure there will ever be a cupcake that can be considered 100% healthy, but that does not stop me from trying.

I have a great recipe for a breakfast bread and although it is suppose to be healthy, I still have to alter it because of my sodium intake. So I took a few ingredients from that recipe and created a healthier version cupcake!

Instead of using frosting for the top of these cupcakes we are just going to sprinkle the top with powder sugar. However a fantastic frosting would be Cream Cheese Frosting or Butter Cream Frosting!

So lets start with the ingredients and get these cupcakes cooking!

Honoring the Divine Within

Honoring the Divine Within

The Divine you

When we hear the term: "You need to Honor the Divine Within" what comes to your mind?

Many years ago when I first started creating herbal products to sell, I based the whole concept of my business on "Honoring the Divine Within". In today's society (and I am sure it has always been the same way) men and women both, have to manage several different titles at once; Mother, Father, business person, wife, husband and so on. One of the main things I have always noticed is how easily (especially for women) to put your own needs on the back burners so you can take care of everybody else. I am not saying that is always the case, but the biggest majority of women does that.

The Color Red

The color Red is very stimulating. It is bright, vibrant and is known to be associated with strength, courage, power, passion, desire and love. Since Red is such an intense color it also enhances human metabolism and is said to increase your respiration rate.

Red is also the color associated with our Root Chakra which is our 1st. Chakra also called the Based Chakra. It is located at the bottom of your spine. The Root Chakra is associated a lot with different emotional states.

There are five different colors associated with the color Red: Light Red, Pink, Dark Red, Brown and Reddish Brown which all have red as the base color. Just as Pink signifies romance, love and friendship, Red signifies joy, sexuality, passion and love. I happen to believe that each color encourages or discourages us, that is why I lean more towards some colors oppose to others.

St. James Hotel-New Mexico

A Brief History of St. James Hotel

he St. James Hotel is located in the historic downtown Cimarron, New Mexico. It is a historical hotel, restaurant and bar. It is known for its legendary status of being haunted by the spirits of men murdered there in the 19th century during the "wild west" days.

This hotel was built in 1872 by Henri (later changed to Henry) Lambert. During this time Cimarron and much of the surrounding area was owned by Lucien B. Maxwell. In the beginning the St. James Hotel was called the Lambert Inn.

The St. James hotel has been visited by many famous lawmen and notorious outlaws and was the scene of many murders. Some of the well-known people who had stayed at the St. James were: Wyatt Earp, his brother Morgan and their wives, Jesse James (who always stayed in Room 14), Clay Allison, Black Jack Tom Ketchum, Buffalo Bill Cody and Annie Oakley, Doc Holliday, Billy the Kid, and Pat Garret just to name a few.

Where do I begin to talk about Angels? I have loved them all of my life. My grandmother would tell me that I always had angels around me protecting me. It was not until recently I started created Angel pictures and everyone is very special to me.

As with all of my artwork, somehow there is always a hidden message in the art. Each Fairy picture, graphic art picture, photo and even the angel pictures always speak to me. It is like these little messages appear and becomes a part of the theme of the picture.

I hand make Inspirational Faeries and Inspirational Angel dolls from cloth. Each of the dolls is one of a kind piece of art and each has their own little personal messages. So in a sense all of my art has some kind of message attached to it.

I am very attached to my artwork and always have been. That is why I always say that me doing art is so much than a monetary thing, I actually want to give something back to the world, if that make any sense?

Cooking for Geeks Cookbook-3

Chapter Five Review and Pumpkin Cake

Cooking for Geeks by: Jeff Potter

This is a fantastic cookbook that is really considered more than just a cookbook but also a learning tool. I really enjoyed how Mr. Potter went into an explanation about leaveners not only with a scientific approach but also in plain English.

I cannot speak for everybody but one of the most important things to me when reading books is how the book is written. I enjoy reading books that seem like the Author is sitting there telling you a story. Through their written words it more like having a conversation with the readers. This is one reason I really enjoyed this book.

Cooking for Geeks is actually a book that could be used as a good learning tool for older children who are just beginning to learn to cook. He writes about different experiments you can do that will show you what he is explaining. How much fun could this be if you got your children involved-what child does not like to play scientist in the kitchen? There is a simple experiment to separate out and see the gluten made by the proteins in flour-doesn't that

sound like fun to watch?

Two Great Foundations

Bare Escentuals vs Laura Geller Makeup

A Makeup Debate? A Makeup Comparison? A Makeup Challenge? Regardless how this page is classified it is about two fantastic makeups, Bare Escentuals and Laura Geller. I have used them both and like one better than other. Why? Well, I am going to write a pro-con list and share the differences I have experienced with these two makeups.

I started using Bare Escentuals back in 2009-2010. I purchased a small Try Me from QVC and was pretty impressed with it. The main product that I was totally in love with and still use is the BareMinerals Multi-Tasking SPF 20 Concealer Before it became so popular as a concealer, it use to be an eye shadow. So today, I still use it as an eye shadow and/or cover up on my eye area. But I will go into that more in a little while.

As far as Laura Geller's makeup, it hooked me faster than any product I have ever tried. Love it!!

(laughs) Okay, I deleted my picture, I think I was scaring all the traffic away!! Joking (I think) I will post a recent photo as soon as I take one that I feel more comfortable with.

Back in 2008 I wrote Who is WhiteOak and found it was really hard writing about myself. "WhiteOak" is a spiritual name for me that I was given many years ago and went through a very long ceremony to carry it. So in this page I will share a little about "Eva" (laughs)

I suppose the easiest way for me to start this is by not trying to define myself as just one thing. Everything about me is so multi-faceted that it is hard for many people to even try and keep up with me. So I believe that is where I will start, with someone who does a very good keeping up with so many aspects of me and that is my husband, my best friend, the other beat of my heart, my partner and well you get the drift!

Tips for Updating your Page

Ideas for Updating your Squidoo Pages

Let's be honest, the main reasons we write Squidoo Pages, Blogs and Write on other Social Networks is so we can earn money. Unfortunately, there is more to it than just writing a fantastic page and expecting it to go out and make money on its own. There is a lot involved and hopefully I will be able to make some suggestions that will help.

Writing online is not like going to Microsoft and downloading updates. You actually have to update your pages often in order to keep traffic coming to them. Of course one of the main things is staying in good standards with Google (speaking for myself) that is where I count on a lot of my traffic coming from.

Back linking, adding a good Meta tag, SEO and doing a lot of promotion is as important. But all of this requires updating your pages and keeping them fresh.

I have been reading some fantastic suggestions lately from different people's blog and I have taken a lot of the information into consideration while diligently working to update my own pages. I decided to write this lens with great hopes that it may help others along the way.

Autumn Apple Recipes

Apple Recipes

am not sure if an apple a day will keep the doctor away, but I do know I love them. As odd as this is going to sound, I will not eat Apple Pie I have never liked it at all. For me I think it is a texture thing-However I love apples that are cooked soft in foods, so who knows.

A little info on Apples

Apples are in the Rose family (Rosaceae) and is one of the most widely cultivated tree fruits that are used by humans. The Apple tree originated in Western Asia, and there are more than 7,500 known cultivars of apples. At least 55 million tons of apples were grown worldwide in 2005 with a value of about $10 Billion Dollars. The USA is the second leading producer of apples with more than 7.5% of world production; whereas China produces about 35%

Research has suggested that apples may reduce the risk of many different kinds of cancers. They contain a small amount of Vitamin C but are rich in antioxidant compounds. Some studies have shown that apples may also help with heart disease. They do not have any cholesterol; they have fiber which reduces cholesterol by preventing reabsorption and are bulky for their caloric content.

Chef Feegle's Cookie Bar Delight's

Coming up with a recipe for Chef Feegle's Quest was really interesting for me. For the past three days I have been wondering what in the world to make. This morning when I got up I was watching a Christmas movie on the television and was thinking about these cookies my grandmother use to make with this fruit jelly stuff in the middle. Than my thoughts went to a Jewish cookie I made one year. So I was thinking about the ingredients I already had and came up with this recipe for Chef Feegle.

I have to warn you, they may not look like Christmas but the flavors just pop in your mouth, saying oh, this is without a doubt a Christmas Cookie!! I wish you were here to help me test things out, yum!

As with all of my recipes, I do not add salt and I use no-sodium baking powder and baking soda and no salt butter. I use as many organic ingredients as I have on hand that I purchased on sale. So adjust the recipe to use what is in your pantry, because I know your's will be just as good!!

By using simple little things that you have on hand, you can help ear mites leave your animals, by using a little cornmeal you can get rid of ants!

These are just a few things I will be talking about. This information was posted in my WOSIB little-sis group by two of our members, Cathie and Edwina. Thanks you two...I hope others find this as interesting as I did!!

Why am I using a candle graphic? Well, to save on your electric bill you can use candles for light, the scent is wonderful and plus it is very romantic. I use essential oil on all of my candles for its aromatherapy effects.

So that is the tale of the "Favorite Songs" Squidoo Page!!!

Music, wow does it store a lot of information in our memories. When I listen to some of my old songs, I can remember riding around with a friend after getting off of work, listening to her favorite music by Charlie Pride and Conway Twitty or walking down the street in Delaware to a friends house or looking out my bedroom window daydreaming in Ohio.

The Little Things you can do:

Earth Day is April 22, and often we wonder what we can do to celebrate it on that day. The question is do we really need to wait until April 22, to celebrate such an important event? Most people will answer No to this question, because so many more people are becoming aware of all of the things that we can do as a "Whole" to help the earth's environment.

The way I view things are; "if we can remember to start with one small contribution to helping the Earth, the second step and every step after that becomes easier and easier."

Did you just following these easy first steps can save you money, energy and help the environment?

have been studying herbal healing for a very long time now. No, I am not. Just as with any healing method, things change and more information surfaces every day. Do I believe in herbal remedies? Yes, I do very much.

When it comes to battling the Cold and/or Allergies there are things available to help bring a little relief, so why not get a little relief with herbs the natural way? I have finally taking a little time and wrote up some of my own remedies. Before you read on I have to add my disclaimer and also I wanted to share this you. I was selling my herbal products at an All Nations Pow-wow one time. This man walked up and with a stern voice asked, "How did you come up with these mixtures?" I looked at him and explained, "To be very honest "Spirit" came me the recipes." He half smiled and said, "Good Combinations!" Turns out this gentleman was a medicine man and to this very day, I have something in my medicine bag that he gave to me.

Protection: 1. the act of protecting or the state of being protected; preservation from injury or harm. 2. a thing, person, or group that protects: This vaccine is a protection against disease.

Well, I understand everyone knows what protection means. There are many area's to apply this too, there are many concepts to the word in general, but I want to focus on the importance of using protection in the Spiritual/Pagan Concept.

Why use protection in the first place? Why do you cast a circle before doing a spell? Why is there a need to shield yourself from certain people? There are only a few questions that I hope to answer throughout this lens.

Ghost vs. Spirits

Ghost vs Spirits

Is there a difference between Ghost and Spirits?

As I write this lens, I too will be learning the difference between ghost and spirits. I know in general conversations when people speak about this subject, they will refer to ghost/spirit in the same context. Is there a difference? Lets start here...

Wikipedia A ghost is said to be the apparition of a deceased person, frequently similar in appearance to that person, and usually encountered in places she or he frequented, the place of his or her death, or in association with the person's former belongings. The word "ghost" may also refer to the spirit or soul of a deceased person, or to any spirit or demon.

Pictures of Tropical Flowers

Photography of Exotic Flowers

When you first walk into a State Botanical Garden with your camera in hand; you pause for a moment to take in all of the scents that linger in the air. Yet, you pause for another moment to absorb the thought of where you would like to begin photographing.

The State Botanical Gardens is a perfect teaching ground for the amateur photographer. The bright colors of all the exotic, tropical plants overwhelm you with a strong sense of expectations. You excitably begin your journey towards the first section of exotic flowers. As you are slowly walking towards them, you become aware of the heightened beauty that is surrounding you, you get your camera ready, and begin to capture the scene in front of you.

What are Tropical Flowers? Tropical flowers have a breathtaking fragrance and a very unique beauty that flower lovers just hold dear in their hearts. Some tropical flowers are Orchids, Rhizomes, Hibiscus, Heliconias, and so on. Tropical flowers thrive in natural tropical climatic conditions.

So, what are Exotic Flowers? Exotic Flowers are tropical flowers that are alien from other geographical regions usually from the Temperate and Polar regions. Not all exotic flowers are considered tropical flowers, it just depends what region they come from according to the equator.

Butterflies and Flowers

The Butterfly

There are several things in nature that just makes my heart fill with joy! The Mountains, Flowers, Dragonflies, Hummingbirds and Butterflies! I love purple flowers, purple leaves on plants and the deep red tones on Autumn Leaves. Okay, so I am sounding sapping, sorry but this is all true!

When I am in the nature taking pictures, when I find special "Insects" captured in my photography I am like a kid in a candy store! I hate spiders!! Sorry I know that have good spiritual medicine but YUKE!! However, let me capture one in a photo (like the picture I am going to post) and it is like WOW how awesome is that!

Me and The Butterfly is a different story. When I was a child, I wanted to turn into a butterfly. I can sit and watch one for as long as it stays in front me. I find butterflies very magical. They move with this unique grace, their wings are beyond beautiful, but their essence is a like a gift from the Divine.

The one thing I really like about me (you will not hear me say that often) is the fact I am able to be so thankful for the smallest things in life. I have always been that way and hopefully will always remain that way.

So I would very much like to share some of the beauty I have been blessed to see and luckily enough to be able to take some pictures of.

painted a picture one time and named it "Spirit Horse" because of the "spirit medicine" horses carry. They carry a strong medicine for strength and courage. I remember when I painted the picture I was at a point in my life where I could feel my strength and courage lowering and I knew I needed help. So I called upon "Horse Medicine".

I have always had a very strong connection with horses. I rode my first one when I was twelve or thirteen years old and the moment I sat on the horses back something just filled my energy with so much freedom. I remember riding with a friend one time and she made the horse we were riding rock (I do not know the correct terminology for it) but feeling the wind on my face and the movement of horse, I always wished I could freeze that moment in time.

g this lens and perhaps one day I will have to sketch or paint another "Spirit Horse".

My Spirit Name

WhiteOak-A Journey to my Naming Ceremony

When you decide to write a small biography it is a lot different from writing about a certain topic or belief or even another person. When you write this kind of lens, it is about you, so it makes a bit more personal. So the first question should really be; why did I decide to write a lens about myself?

I have been visiting a lot of other lens lately and I have noticed that many people have written a lens about their self. I personally found that to be interesting because we are given an insight to who the Lensmasters are, and it helps us to know them a little better.

When we are given our birth name or baby name, the parents usually give it to us with some symbolic meaning. Chances are those meanings are not as spiritual as they are giving honor to someone. The spiritual aspect of the name of a baby is as important (according to my beliefs) as the name would be giving someone honor. A little more on this later.

So, without further delaying- I will begin with this. I was born in 1958, I am a double an Aquarius with a Taurus Moon, and I am 100% true to my sign! What in the world does this mean? It means I am a one of kind of something and have not figured that part out yet

Hawk- Bird of Prey as Our Totem

this lens's photo

Hawk Medicine is something I am very familiar with. It is not one of my birth animals according to many different traditions, but it is something I know that has been with me all of my life. I came to realize my Hawk Medicine when I was in my late twenties, but did not fully understand it until the early nineties.

So what does all of this mean? Many different cultures believe that each of us carry different spiritual animal medicines. Hawks are messengers from the Divine-They bring us messages in many different forms and it is up to us to acknowledge the message or not. According to Ted Andrews, Hawk Medicine is visionary power and Guardianship. Their cycle of power is Spring and Fall Equinox and the New Moon.

How often do you see Hawks? I know some areas you see them several times a day, every day-does this mean they always have messages? I believe they do in a sense. It may not be a direct message from one your ancestors, but they always have something to teach us.

It is up to us to understand the messages we are given. One of the problems with being an Adult oppose to a child is often we are not able to tap into the "innocence" of believing. As a child we believed without question, but as an adult we question a lot because we try to analyze everything to the fullest.

This lens is about Hawk Medicine as an Animal Totem.
