Springtime in Georgia-Part One

Here we are, spring has officially arrived in the south, except this week we are having a cold front coming in. For all of those that lives in the south, we take advantage of those warmer days in between the chilly days and do what we can do.  I thought it would be interesting to share a little about my first few days of Spring so far.

I have learned a few things that could help with pest little critters in our yard.  Of course we do not want hurt them, we just want to keep them out of our flower beds and veggies!!  Here a few of my post I have written so far:

Spicy Squirrel Mix:  Yes, Virginia this does work or should I say it did work for me

Second Day of Spring:  Okay we are five days into the official date of Spring-and so far I have been a busy little bee, do I have spring fever?  You Betcha!!

First Day of Spring:  Aww, the things we think about that we need to do and trying find time to do them can be a huge chore within itself!

Planting Bags:  Okay this may not be new to you, but it is to me and I am still waiting for mine to get here...

Week of Spring:  This is the post that started it all... FIRE ANTS!!!

--------------------------------------
Of course one of the first things a photographer thinks about when spring arrives is TAKING PICTURES!!
Yes, I am so addicted to photography it truly feels as if; it runs in my blood-hmm, now that I think of it, it does, it is just an extension of my love for art!!  Here are some of my newest photos that I just uploaded this morning.

HOPEFULLY, I can keep this goal, but I want to try to post my newest artwork and photography on a daily base, you know just popping in to say Hello World and this is how I am enjoying Spring.  How about You? Are you out there enjoying this beautiful season yet?

Nature Photography at Zazzle

Photography of things in Nature

I have always loved taking pictures of Natures Beauty. It was not until a couple of years ago I started taking photography a little more seriously and wanted to do more with it.
I honestly have a deep love for all of the beauty I see in nature while hiking or just walking in the woods. I have been known to just sit for hours taking in all of the energy that I feel when I am outside. I have also been told more than once, when I am in nature, my energy just merges into the scenery. I found that to be a great compliment and it was something I really understood.
When I am taking pictures of natural things, I try to focus on the unusual, the unique and/or things people would just walk by or who would just give a fast glance at. Tree stumps is one of my favorite things to photography. So this lens dedicate to some of my photography, in hopes that you will be able to see a little of the magic I see in nature and all of the beauty that it holds.

Walk Through the Botanical Gardens

Beauty of the Garden

Follow me and let's take a walk through the Botanical Gardens. Along the way stop for a few moments and take in the warm fuzzy feelings that the beauty of the garden can give to you.

Recently, as most of you already know I have set my goals and focus on becoming a more serious photographer. I believe that each artist has a certain focus and places a lot of attention into that focus. Photography has reached the top of my own personal goal list, I know what I want to focus on and I know what I want to accomplish. But as with every goal, we must learn to take those baby steps and try not to run before we can walk.

The Color White

Purity of White

The Color White

ust for fun, you should do a Google Search to see if Black and White is considered colors. A lot of folks say they are not, and a lot of folks say they are. They say black is the positive of all colors and white is the absence of all color. Black is the absence of light, color does not exist without light, white is a balance of color in light. So basically they are shades or tones. A bit confusing I know, but to me personally, I consider them colors. But really this page is not about that, I wanted to write about the purity of white.

White has never been a color I have been drawn too. Before doing my photography, when I looked at white flowers all I could see was the dingy brown color they turn. Since I am somewhat tom-boyish for me to wear white clothes is a nightmare. That was proven again over the weekend in North Carolina; I had a hair brain idea to wear white shorts which did not remain white for very long while doing some photography at the botanical gardens.

Inspirational Water Bottles

WhiteOak's Inspirational Prints on Water Bottles

This is another page of my products that are listed on 3dRose and Amazon. I choose the water bottles because of the eco-friendly concept of them. Having and using a reusable bottle serves so many important purposes.

The Water Bottle holds 21oz and is 8 inches tall and 2.5 inch in diameter. Reusable water bottles have become very popular and are used for many different purposes including, exercising, gardening, walking, hiking and traveling. These bottle comes with an image on both sides and it is dishwasher safe. The images on these water bottles are prints that I created from a photo I took. I took the photo into another computer program and added a few different effects and soon the effects became my personal signature.

Inspirational Wall Clocks

WhiteOak's Photography Inspirational Prints

Often when I am out doing photography, certain flowers or objects will bring an inspirational word to my mind. After this happened a few different times, I decided to start creating Inspirational Floral Prints.

I take one of my photo's (the one that reminded me of an inspirational word) and by using another computer program I add several different effects to it. I found after doing several different pictures that I was using the same effects so decided to make them my signature mark (so to speak).

Thanks to Lensmaster sandyspider I was introduced to a place called 3dRose and was able to submit some of my photography and in turn they place the photos on products and list them on Amazon. This is all new to me and I am sure I have a lot to learn.

History of Dogwoods

Clipped from www.squidoo.com

Dogwood Photography

History of the Dogwood

For years now the one flower that I love to photograph is the Dogwood Blossom. For me it is one of the most amazing flowers with such a unique texture, coloration and beauty. My photography of the Dogwood Blossom has changed a lot throughout the years. But again, so has my camera. The one thing that remains is the beauty I seen in them.

The Dogwood Tree has a very long history; they say at the time of the Jesus' Crucifixion, the dogwood tree was comparable to the size of the mighty oak tree. Because of its firmness and strength it was used as the Cross that Jesus was crucified on. Although there are no direct accounts of this, it is known that dogwood trees did grow in the areas surrounding Jerusalem during this time period.

Inspirational Posters at Zazzle

WhiteOak's Photography

Since I opened a new Zazzle Gallery called WhiteOak's Photography I wanted to do something very different, and began creating Inspirational Posters.

I am taking certain photo's and only making a few products from them; one being Posters. I will be highlighting each poster and give a little explanation why I wrote the quote I did with that particular picture. This will be a work in progress but I think in the long run it will turn out to be okay.

This image was taken earlier this past summer. I honestly feel this dragonfly landed just for me so I could take its picture. My husband got some really good shots also, and we both agree, it was like this dragonfly took the time just to pose for us. Sounds Silly doesn't it? (laughs)

Wedding Designs at Zazzle

WhiteOak's Photography Wedding Designs

Wedding Designs at Zazzle

t is a little strange how all of this came about for me. The other day I was shooting some photography of a white rose and a cream colored rose. When I uploaded the pictures they all had a "Wedding Theme" look to them. So I decided to start a Wedding Items category at my
WhiteOak's Photography Zazzle Gallery.

So far I have only listed two different sets of items such as Wedding Invitations, Matching Envelopes, postage, stickers, R.S.V.P. cards and a few other items. I honestly believe that most women planning a wedding works with a tight budget, and ordering the "Full Package" at zazzle would be cheaper than having everything professionally printed.

The photo in this module is on a set of invitations called "The Sacred Union". I am going to try and list out several products I have done so far. Basically this page will remain a work in process. I will also be updating The Halloween Bride Wedding Planning Guide before Halloween arrives. I have several new ideas in mind for The Halloween Bride!!

Who is Eva Aka WhiteOak50

Writer, Artist, Photography

(laughs) Okay, I deleted my picture, I think I was scaring all the traffic away!! Joking (I think) I will post a recent photo as soon as I take one that I feel more comfortable with.

Back in 2008 I wrote Who is WhiteOak and found it was really hard writing about myself. "WhiteOak" is a spiritual name for me that I was given many years ago and went through a very long ceremony to carry it. So in this page I will share a little about "Eva" (laughs)

I suppose the easiest way for me to start this is by not trying to define myself as just one thing. Everything about me is so multi-faceted that it is hard for many people to even try and keep up with me. So I believe that is where I will start, with someone who does a very good keeping up with so many aspects of me and that is my husband, my best friend, the other beat of my heart, my partner and well you get the drift!
