Rock and Roll Music

Music from the Sixties

Since I was a very small child I was raised with music.  The thing about music is it touches your soul, it reacts with your spirit on a very deep level.  Music often carries a lot of emotions, it reminds us of things we went through in earlier years. It has helped me through sad times, happy times, times when I was lost and times that were very bad.  For me music is a way to escape-I can go anywhere I want to by listening to music. Music takes you to a place within your mind that allows you to sing along regardless if you carry a tune or not, you can dance in the fields however you want and you can cry if that is what you need to do. Music is freedom for your soul.

Often someone who truly loves music will like a very wide range of it, Old Rock N Roll, Psychedelic Rock, Pop Rock, Folk and Blues, Country, Blue Grass and so much more.  Myself, I cannot get enough of that Psychedelic, Pop, Folk Rock music.  Take me back to the sixties and drop me off and I would be one happy trooper. Lock me in time with, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Cream, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Moody Blues, I promise the list is endless, and I would be one happy person.

I wrote a page years ago called 1960's Music  which of course is related to the Woodstock Festival also known as the Summer of Love.  Although I was a young teen at that time, I still heard of it and would have given anything to go to it.

When it comes to having a favorite song I honestly could never just pick one.  But I do a few I can listen to many times and never get tired of them.  Wild Horses is one of them.

The Story in your Eyes

If you are ever down, depressed, sad or want to escape for a while-Turn on your favorite music, sit back, close your eyes and listen to the music, allow it to take you where you need to go.

1960's Music

Woodstock-Summer of Love

Back in the 1960's our record collection was very much like today's musical CD's. Music for me is something that has always touched the core of my being. I actually use to play music all of the time especially in the sixties. My stepfather was a music junkie so needless to say we always had a good music setup. Since no one was allowed to touch his stereo equipment, most of the time I would have a very inexpensive recorder player and would play my 45's all the time.

If you were to ask what people remember most about the 1960's, it would be the hippies, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Woodstock. Woodstock was 3 days of Peace and Music held on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York on 600 acres. During that weekend, 32 acts performed in front of 500,000 people. I found this information at Wiki.

Gothic Music

Gothic Music

Music

love music! The only music I do not like is crying in your beer Country (but I like Country Rock) and I do not like Rap Music that I cannot understand. If I had to choose my favorite music it would be a hard call because I love music from the late 60's and Goth music from my time. I have about six top favorites and these two types of music rank in the top. I got the idea for this lens from Robins FaceBook Group Gothic Temptations

I looked up the definition for Gothic Music and this is what I found: Gothic rock (also referred to as Goth rock or simply Goth) is a musical subgenre of Post-Punk and Alternative Rock that formed during the late 1970s. Gothic rock bands grew from the strong ties they had to the English punk rock and emerging post-punk scenes.

I am so bad in remember names of groups but I am going to try and put a collection of some of my favorite "Goth" songs together. From my understanding what I consider to be Gothic Music could very well be different than what the music is today, but as with everything in life even music changes with time.

Enya-Voice of Ireland

Enya-Voice of Ireland

Enya-Eithne Patricia Ni Bhraonain

Back in the early 90's when I first got involved with the internet; I was amazed with the things I learned. At first when I started going into chat rooms and met people from all around the world, it was amazing, but when they started to share some of their favorite things, I became totally addicted to the net! I wanted to learn more, I wanted to be introduced to more things, and one of the biggest things I was introduced to was Enya. I was raised with all kinds of music, but I have never heard of Enya until some friends from the chat rooms introduced me to her music.

Music is truly food for my soul. While I am writing or doing my art I often listen to music. It helps me to remain calm and from that calmness creativity flows like water. During different times, while doing different artwork or different styles of writing my moods will change according to the music I am listening to. Enya's music is a kind of music that I can listen to non-stop no matter what I am doing.

To be honest, I am not sure if I have ever heard someone say they did not like Enigma's music. I have heard, "Aw, its okay" but never "No, way I hate their music!" How about you, are you an Enigma Fan? http://amplify.com/u/a15xm8

Music Flashbacks!

Music Flashbacks

Music from the past

he idea for this page came to me during a Christmas trip to Michigan. When you are traveling you end up changing the radio station A LOT. While changing the channels several of my "OLD" songs played and wham I pulled into a Time Warp. I started jotting down notes so I could I write this page. So that is the tale of the "Favorite Songs" Squidoo Page!!!

Music, wow does it store a lot of information in our memories. When I listen to some of my old songs, I can remember riding around with a friend after getting off of work, listening to her favorite music by Charlie Pride and Conway Twitty or walking down the street in Delaware to a friends house or looking out my bedroom window daydreaming in Ohio.
