Poetry from the Heart-Part 5

Poetry from the heart

I cannot speak for all women, only for myself.  I have noticed in my own life as I transcended to a different section of the trinity, I began to see life differently.  The changes I seen were not a couple of things here and there, but for me it was a full transition.  Often the changes happened so fast that it felt like a whirlwind running at high speed.  We learn a whole new way-and our path becomes a different trail.  But the more you can just flow with these experiences, the more you will come to realize, that is all part of our spiritual growth.  The good, the bad, the ugly, all of it is part of learning new ways.

Sweet Scents
(c) 1996 Eva WhiteOak Thomas

Spiral Dancers, dancing on a golden thread,
Visions and thoughts are filling my head.
Sweet Scents of what was once secure,
leaves my emotions very unsure.

Spiral Dancers, from here and there,
have set me free, floating on air.
Sweet Scents of what was once pure,
leaves me empty and very bored.

Spiral Dancers, of my most inner fear,
have began to bring out yesterdays tears.
Sweet Scents of something once filled with power,
leaves me feeling like a broken flower.

Spiral Dancers, that once danced in faith,
Now runs away to totally escape.
Sweet Scents of what was once soft,
leaves my spirit cold and aloof.

Spiral Dancers, when did I lose sight,
within the darkness of my own fright.
Sweet Scents of yet to come,
leave me feeling very numb.

Spiral Dancers, I no longer feel your dance,
And the song that brought light into my broken trance.
Sweet Scents of a strength, I once held
leaves my ears ringing with echo's of bells.

Spiral Dancers, will this pain ease,
From whispers of a silent pleads?
Sweet Scents of my weakness that's no longer strong,
leaves me with questions like where do I belong.

From a Mist
(c) 1998 Eva WhiteOak Thomas

It appears you have stepped out from a mist,
Your darkness wrapped around you in a tight fit.
The paleness of your skin reflects in the moon,
Yet your shadow self continues to bloom.
You shield many thing but your true essence cannot hide.
I sense you, feel you and can hear your cries.
I understand unspoken words that cannot escape your lips,
And the darkness that comforts you as you so wish.

It appears you have stepped out from a mist,
Lingering about in a crowded abyss.
Your mysterious aura, your mysterious feel,
Can sensed by those from a familiar wheel.
It can be seen how close you hold the darkness around you,
and the  comfort you feel within the darkness, is this not true?
Many things are hidden with the shadow self, that feels right,
Especially those that linger at night.

It appears you have stepped out from a mist,
Not alone, but yet alone as you so wish.
The darkness of your eyes and the paleness of your skin,
Is a trait that you do have other kin.
The fire that runs through your soul,
Reminds me of tales that I was once told.
The rapture runs deep within your essence,
I know it is you, in its purest quintessence.

Symbolic Bridge

This is a very special Zazzle Design.  A friend of mine who has always been supportive and encouraging of my art and photography place a comment on another photo I did of a bridge scene from the Botanical Gardens.  Her comment was filled with so much wisdom and feelings that I asked her if it was okay if I used the words on one of my designs.  Being who this beautiful person is, she said yes and this picture is the design I created.

I had to search through my photography to find just the right photo and when I seen this one, I knew it was it.  I changed her words slightly but kept the true meaning of her comment.  If you stop and think about it, I mean really think about it, a bridge is very symbolic of the journeys that we have in life.  Every time we cross a bridge to get to the other side,  we are developing our own history.

When you stop and think about every experience we go through good and bad, each experience teaches us something whether we get the meaning or not.  Those experiences help us to grow and reach a higher level in our own life.  Often there will be times when we experience horrible sad things and we will think that there is no lesson to learn from this event, but instead we wonder if we are being punished in some odd way.  What did I do to have to go through this?  Why is this happening to me? Am I that bad of a person to have to go through this?

The Divine that I believe in, does not send hurtful experiences to teach us things, often things happen and it is up to us to understand a deep meaning.  These words really hit home for me within the last couple of months, the things I have experienced literally left me in a whirlwind and yet within the next two weeks I have to experience more.  I know for sure that I am not being punished, but I am going through these experiences to learn something very important.  What little bit I have figured out is this:  Life is precious and it is very short.  We need to take every moment we can and see all of the beauty in life and be grateful for every thing that comes into our life.  Because in a snap of a finger, our whole reality can be flipped and leave us in a whirlwind of confusion.

Moonflowers-RedGage

Enchanting | RedGage

This is a moonflower that I grew this year. I was excited about it because (like year-except I forgot) I was afraid they were not going to bloom.  But they wait for September for me anyway.  A moonflower is a very unique beautiful flower that not only smells enchanting, but is magical to see.  It only blooms one time, one night and than its life is over.  So for a short few hours, the world is blessed with their existence and there beauty until sunrise.

This photo is a moonflower at the end of its life cycle. The closer they get to dying, the more their scent goes away.

Wildlife Photography | RedGage

                                                            Americas Bird | RedGage

I took this photo at the Wildlife Center in Athens, Georgia.  This is one of a set of Bald Eagles that were together.  I am guessing since they shared a space that they were mates.

                                                                Bad Hair Day-RedGage

The only thing I could think of to name this picture is Bad Hair Day.  I mean look at that head of hair-sort of funky, sort of crazy, sort of cool-What's your thoughts?

I am sorry but I think this image is priceless.  I took it at a Wildlife Center in Athens, Georgia.  It just so happened I was at the right place at the right time.

I took this photo of a Black Bear who was waiting for his breakfast.  So to keep himself amused, he decided to play with this stick he is holding.  It was just a humor moment for me because my thoughts went to long ago when jailers use to run their cup across the bars to get someone's attention. Can you imagine the bear running his stick along the fence to get the park attendants to feed him?

This beautiful owl is only the second photo I have ever taken of an owl. The owl was a resident at the Hawk's home.  Owl and Hawk are able to share the same territory because both birds are bird of prey and both territorial.  However since the owl is nocturnal it is able to share the same territory with the Hawk because Hawk claims the area during the day.

Haunted North Carolina

North Carolina Hauntings

Asheville North Carolina

North Carolina is among one of my favorite states. With all of the beauty of the surrounding mountains, I have never thought about this state being haunted. Isn't funny how we see things sometimes.

In doing research of Haunted North Carolina, not only did I find several interesting hauntings, but also hauntings that I have heard in other states as Urban Legends. Regards. I want to focus on Asheville, North Carolina because there seems to be a lot going in and around that area.

With all of that being said, sit back and relax and let's see if these tales will give you chills. I know for the past two days, I have had a constant chill thing going on after reading so much haunted things in New York and now North Carolina.

Nature Photography at Zazzle

Photography of things in Nature

I have always loved taking pictures of Natures Beauty. It was not until a couple of years ago I started taking photography a little more seriously and wanted to do more with it.
I honestly have a deep love for all of the beauty I see in nature while hiking or just walking in the woods. I have been known to just sit for hours taking in all of the energy that I feel when I am outside. I have also been told more than once, when I am in nature, my energy just merges into the scenery. I found that to be a great compliment and it was something I really understood.
When I am taking pictures of natural things, I try to focus on the unusual, the unique and/or things people would just walk by or who would just give a fast glance at. Tree stumps is one of my favorite things to photography. So this lens dedicate to some of my photography, in hopes that you will be able to see a little of the magic I see in nature and all of the beauty that it holds.

Haunted Long Island New York

Clipped from www.squidoo.com

Haunted Long Island, New York

Long Island, New York

Writing this page has been somewhat of an experience for me. I literally spent a full day researching the places I have posted trying to cross reference and such. Unfortunately, this is not my first attempt in trying to write about Haunted Long Island. I have started two different pages about the Amityville Horror, and ended up deleted them both. I deleted them for different reasons, but was thinking if I focused on other haunted areas in this area, perhaps I would have a page that I felt comfortable to put out there.

I am almost positive I have never spoken to a person who has not heard about the Amityville Horror. It is the most famous unexplained account in the country of a family who lived in a house and was ended up being killed by the oldest son. This case is filled with a lot of unexplainable paranormal events that has to do with the supernatural and very negative energy. Another family had purchased the on home a year later and experienced horrible, frightening hauntings and ended up moving out after 28 days.

Dustings from the School Bus

Back to School Quest

Dustings from the School Bus

The Angels of Squidooville received a letter in their inbox that spoke of a special quest that was available. Since it is that time again when all of the School Buses are out cleaning off the dust and getting ready for the new school year to begin, the officials at Squidooville headquarters thought it would be fun to go on one last adventure before school officially started.

Ms. Bonnie and Ms. Robin packed a lot of extra juice boxes and sent all of us Angels out to explore new territories in Squidooville. It was a seven day journey and each of us Angels were suppose to visit 10 new homes in a new territory each day for seven days. (I was really afraid we were going to run out of juice boxes because WOW this was a really fun road trip!)

Reiki

Reiki

Reiki-A Vision and My Journey

know there are a ton of pages written about Reiki, but I wanted to share my journey with this amazing alternative healing method.

I will share how Reiki entered my life. Why I decided to do Reiki and my journey with it ever since. I will admit that I am not as active as a regular practitioner, but I do know I use it a lot for personal use. I have found that once you are attuned to Reiki, it becomes a natural part of you.

My whole journey deciding to do Reiki came to me in a vision. I write about this further down this page. I can honestly say if it were not for that vision chances are I would not have been attuned. As odd as that sounds, I just have a very hard time charging for any kind of healing I am asked to do. At that time, the prices for your attunements were very high.

Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes

Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes

Do you like Strawberry Shortcake? You will love Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes!!

One of the other things I LOVE is strawberries! As long as I have strawberries or Chocolate, this girl is set to go!! And oh, my goodness put the two together and it is like floating on a cloud!! When I was a teenager, I would always order me a ½ chocolate and ½ strawberry milkshake every time I ordered one!

Since I am NOT a summer person at all, cooking is the last thing on my mind. So I have had to come up with things that are easy, do not take a lot of time and are light and refreshing. THESE cupcakes fit those categories.

Haunted Nevada

Clipped from www.squidoo.com

Haunted Nevada

Nevada Ghost

There are just some places that you would never considered to be haunted. Nevada is one is of those places I would never have guessed to be haunted until I was watching Unsolved Mysteries.

They were talking about this home that now resides in Fish Springs, Nevada and is well over a 100 years old. It was moved to Fish Springs from Virginia. I will share additional information about this house a little later.

This is an addition to the other haunted pages I have written for Scariest Places on Earth. I suppose I have decided to write a page about each state so it seems.

So pull up a chair, pour yourself a cup of brew and let's get spooky!!

WhiteOak's Halloween Store

t is beyond me why I have waited as long as I have to start a Halloween Themed Zazzle Gallery considering Halloween is my most favorite holiday!! This year I have also opened a New Gallery highlighting my photography and another showcasing greeting cards and card stationary items-so I guess I figured why not open a Halloween Theme Zazzle store too. .

What I have done previous years is create a special Halloween Card for my original Zazzle Gallery which is called WhiteOak Art Designs and Photography. I am not sure I will be doing that anymore considering I now have a gallery devoted to nothing but Halloween Designs but to be honest with me you can never tell..

Wolf Totems

Clipped from www.squidoo.com

Wolf Totem

My Spirit Wolf Totem

n the drumming circles I attended, someone mentioned that they were going to have a Shaman Class in a couple of weeks to help people find their "Animal Spirit Totems". I was so excited that I could not contain myself. I signed up and hoped to goodness that the money was going to manifest so I could pay for the class. I honestly believe that when things are meant to be, everything will come together and that is exactly what happened for me and the class.

There was a pretty big group. I knew most everybody but there were a few new people that I had not meant before. It was a one day workshop that would turn out to be one of the most fascinating days of my life.

Finally, I was going to meet my "Dolphin" the animal that I knew with all of my heart that was my Animal Spirit Totem. Little did I know that we are not the ones that choose our guides, our guides choose us.

Farmers Cheese

Farmers Cheese

The Idea

As I have mentioned several times before, my husband and I use to homestead. I write about it here if you would like to take a look: Homesteading Our Journey I wish I would have tried making cheese back then. The one thing my husband and I tried to make was homemade butter. We used heavy cream and had to shake it in a mason jar for a long time. It really did not taste bad, I just did not realize I needed to allow it to drain through cheese-cloth like this cheese.

The Idea about making this cheese came to me the other day. I am the worst trying to figure out what to eat during the hot summer months. I just know I want it simple and easy without having to use the stove a lot. I caught the tail end of a cooking show on Food Network and the cook was making cheese. So I went online to try and find a recipe.
