Georgia Botanical Gardens-Sept 21, 2012

I took this photo at the Georgia Botanical Gardens.  It is one of my favorite photos.  I stopped at this bench and was looking at all of the autumn colored flowers and spotted this butterfly.  I had my short lens on so I quickly changed to my 300ml lens and took several pictures of this beauty.  This brown swallowtail butterfly sure made heart happy the day I took its picture.

I took several photos of this little beauty.  It is a Gulf Fritillary Butterfly on beautiful orange colored flowers.  I took the picture at the Georgia Botanical Gardens.

I truly believe this is one of my luckiest shots.  Catching this bee on the tip of this flower was priceless to me.  I took this picture using a 300ml lens.

Symbolic Bridge

This is a very special Zazzle Design.  A friend of mine who has always been supportive and encouraging of my art and photography place a comment on another photo I did of a bridge scene from the Botanical Gardens.  Her comment was filled with so much wisdom and feelings that I asked her if it was okay if I used the words on one of my designs.  Being who this beautiful person is, she said yes and this picture is the design I created.

I had to search through my photography to find just the right photo and when I seen this one, I knew it was it.  I changed her words slightly but kept the true meaning of her comment.  If you stop and think about it, I mean really think about it, a bridge is very symbolic of the journeys that we have in life.  Every time we cross a bridge to get to the other side,  we are developing our own history.

When you stop and think about every experience we go through good and bad, each experience teaches us something whether we get the meaning or not.  Those experiences help us to grow and reach a higher level in our own life.  Often there will be times when we experience horrible sad things and we will think that there is no lesson to learn from this event, but instead we wonder if we are being punished in some odd way.  What did I do to have to go through this?  Why is this happening to me? Am I that bad of a person to have to go through this?

The Divine that I believe in, does not send hurtful experiences to teach us things, often things happen and it is up to us to understand a deep meaning.  These words really hit home for me within the last couple of months, the things I have experienced literally left me in a whirlwind and yet within the next two weeks I have to experience more.  I know for sure that I am not being punished, but I am going through these experiences to learn something very important.  What little bit I have figured out is this:  Life is precious and it is very short.  We need to take every moment we can and see all of the beauty in life and be grateful for every thing that comes into our life.  Because in a snap of a finger, our whole reality can be flipped and leave us in a whirlwind of confusion.

Walk Through the Botanical Gardens

Beauty of the Garden

Follow me and let's take a walk through the Botanical Gardens. Along the way stop for a few moments and take in the warm fuzzy feelings that the beauty of the garden can give to you.

Recently, as most of you already know I have set my goals and focus on becoming a more serious photographer. I believe that each artist has a certain focus and places a lot of attention into that focus. Photography has reached the top of my own personal goal list, I know what I want to focus on and I know what I want to accomplish. But as with every goal, we must learn to take those baby steps and try not to run before we can walk.

Flower Photography a Zazzle

Flower Photography at Zazzle

Photo's of Flower's

Since I have decided to divide my art lenses into separate catagories, I decided to devote one full lens to just flowers.

To me flowers are some of natures born miracles. Have you ever really looked at a flower upclose? Have you ever paid attention to its soft velvet texture, its wide range of colors and the magic of how the middle of a looks? I am only asking these questions because these are somethings I have always been enchanted by.

A flowers scent can be beautiful, it can smell sweet, my favorite is the scent of the moonflower that is very enchanting to me. Enjoy my photos and just think with spring here, it may encourage you to take pictures of your garden.

Yellow Daffodils

Clipped from www.squidoo.com

Yellow Daffodils

The Flower of Spring

For me nothing screams springtime is close like seeing the beautiful little yellow daffodils popping up everywhere. You can be driving down the road and look off to the side of the road and see this beautiful patch of these bright yellow flowers. You can be walking along a path and see these little beauties just popping their heads up through the dirt.

When I was a child attending school up North, we use to make daffodils out of crepe paper and I remember placing the flowers in my bedroom and just becoming thrilled about the thought of spring coming! Of course back than springtime also meant Easter which meant Coconut Cream Eggs and CHOCOLATE bunnies!!! Did I just associate Daffodils with Chocolate and Coconut Cream Eggs?

The Color Red

The color Red is very stimulating. It is bright, vibrant and is known to be associated with strength, courage, power, passion, desire and love. Since Red is such an intense color it also enhances human metabolism and is said to increase your respiration rate.

Red is also the color associated with our Root Chakra which is our 1st. Chakra also called the Based Chakra. It is located at the bottom of your spine. The Root Chakra is associated a lot with different emotional states.

There are five different colors associated with the color Red: Light Red, Pink, Dark Red, Brown and Reddish Brown which all have red as the base color. Just as Pink signifies romance, love and friendship, Red signifies joy, sexuality, passion and love. I happen to believe that each color encourages or discourages us, that is why I lean more towards some colors oppose to others.
