Thoughts of Earth Day

The Earth is our Mother

An artist/photography and/or writer can get up in the morning and have thoughts for how and what they will do for the day.  But from many years of experience I have learned, you will get up and whatever you are suppose to create that day will manifest.

This morning when I got up I had full intentions to work on more of my photography and getting it posted on some sites.  But instead what happens?  I start working with my graphic arts with Earth Day on my mind!

Earth Day-April 22, 2014 is a very special day for me.  It is a day that many people will pull together and do something good for the earth and many will even set a new goal for that year.  It will be a goal that will involve doing something good for our environment and although I wish Earth Day was 365 days for everyone, I will take the one day if that means they will stick to something for the year that will help the earth.

The list is endless of things you can change and do for Earth Day,  Every year now for many, many moons I make a commitment to doing something that I know will help with the earth.  It does not matter how big or small the idea is, the main thing is sticking to the commitment.  If recycling everything is too much for you do, take one item and make a commitment to recycling it.  Like newspaper, plastic containers, and so on.  Just by doing that one tiny thing will help a lot more than you can ever imagine.

I am sure I will be writing more about this-so be sure to follow my blog and leave me note if you do and I will follow you back.  Have a Blessed Day everyone!  Here are a few of my new designs for Earth Day 2014.

WhiteOak's Halloween

WhiteOak's Halloween Store

t is beyond me why I have waited as long as I have to start a Halloween Themed Zazzle Gallery considering Halloween is my most favorite holiday!! This year I have also opened a New Gallery highlighting my photography and another showcasing greeting cards and card stationary items-so I guess I figured why not open a Halloween Theme Zazzle store too. .

What I have done previous years is create a special Halloween Card for my original Zazzle Gallery which is called WhiteOak Art Designs and Photography. I am not sure I will be doing that anymore considering I now have a gallery devoted to nothing but Halloween Designs but to be honest with me you can never tell..

Fairy Artwork at Zazzle

Fairy Art at Zazzle

Fairy Artwork by: WhiteOak

love fairies. I believe in them and I honestly love creating fairy pictures. The fairy art I do is not your typical little fairies, but are more human size ( I will go into more a little later). Now my fairy art has taken many turns in the short time I have been creating them. In the beginning of my graphic art experience, I knew I wanted to create some kind of fairy pictures and did it the only way I knew how at the time. So I sketched out fairy pictures, formulated the images in my mind and created my first pictures by manipulating different shapes and piecing them together. The Mermaid in this introduction module is among the first attempts of me trying to do fairy pictures.

My experience at doing art on the computer was very fresh, and there were many times when I wanted to give up and go back to the old school way of doing art. When I sketched, painted or drew I felt I had better control of what is being created. BUT the stubborn part of me said nope, I am not going to give up I am going to figure this out! So I created a couple more pictures AND even sold one!! I was shocked at that but very honored also.

Angel Art at Zazzle

Angel Art at Zazzle

Where do I begin to talk about Angels? I have loved them all of my life. My grandmother would tell me that I always had angels around me protecting me. It was not until recently I started created Angel pictures and everyone is very special to me.

As with all of my artwork, somehow there is always a hidden message in the art. Each Fairy picture, graphic art picture, photo and even the angel pictures always speak to me. It is like these little messages appear and becomes a part of the theme of the picture.

I hand make Inspirational Faeries and Inspirational Angel dolls from cloth. Each of the dolls is one of a kind piece of art and each has their own little personal messages. So in a sense all of my art has some kind of message attached to it.

I am very attached to my artwork and always have been. That is why I always say that me doing art is so much than a monetary thing, I actually want to give something back to the world, if that make any sense?

Behance Network

Most everyone who is wanting to make a career needs to have a portfolio. Having an online portfolio is very beneficial to have because it is easy to submit and filled with some of your best work. I really like the Behance platform because it is easy to use. Take a look at look at my portfolio and tell me what you think. http://amplify.com/u/a14m4h

My inspiration for art is Nature without a doubt. I find so much beauty in the world that I do all forms of art to try and capture the beauty that I see. Since I work with so many different medias of art, I consider myself a Multimedia Artist.

Finding ways to promote your art considering there are millions of other artist also doing the same thing is a little challenging, but rewarding also. In my case I just keep trying to place my artwork where people will see it and like others hope for the best.
