n the drumming circles I attended, someone mentioned that they were going to have a Shaman Class in a couple of weeks to help people find their "Animal Spirit Totems". I was so excited that I could not contain myself. I signed up and hoped to goodness that the money was going to manifest so I could pay for the class. I honestly believe that when things are meant to be, everything will come together and that is exactly what happened for me and the class. There was a pretty big group. I knew most everybody but there were a few new people that I had not meant before. It was a one day workshop that would turn out to be one of the most fascinating days of my life. Finally, I was going to meet my "Dolphin" the animal that I knew with all of my heart that was my Animal Spirit Totem. As with our legends that speak of each us being born with a certain Animal Medicine Animal Spirit Totems it is also said that our birthdays are represented by a certain Tree Medicine this is referred to as a Tree Moon. The Celtic Tree Calendar is a calendar with thirteen lunar divisions. If most people used a fixed date for each month instead of following the waxing and waning lunar cycle, that would make the calendar fall out of sync with the Gregorian year because some calendar years have 12 full moons and others have 13. What are Animal Spirit Totems?

Every one of us are given many Spiritual Helpers throughout our lives to help us go through certain experiences. As we grow spiritually our Spirit Helpers change. I know that some classes I have taken taught us that during our birth we are given certain animal medicine. I will list these in the lens. I know by the certain Gifts I have had all of my life, shows me that one of my Spirit Helpers has always been Hawk Medicine. I will go more in depth in a few moments. I hope to make this lens an educational journey for you and I hope to incorporate some things that may help aide you in recognizing your own Animal Spirit Totems. One of the most important things to ALWAYS remember: Although we may be very drawn to some animals does not make them our totem animals. Our Animal Totems

I write about this topic often. Everyone of us have several different "Animal Totems" throughout our life. Often the concept of your Animal Totems is not understood but seen in a different way, which is okay.  Everyone of us absorbs information the way we need to so we can understand it. I wanted to share a few of my own thoughts and a few of my links to pages I have written about this topic.  

First, what is an Animal Totem?  An animal totem is the spiritual aspect of an animal that teaches and guides us through certain situations in our life.  They work with us on a high spiritual level to help us co-exist and get through a lot of real-life situations and ordeals.  My knowledge about Animal Totems has came from Elders, my own Animal Totems by visions and deep meditation (also known as Shamanic Journey's) and also a few books.  

Throughout our lives, different animals will appear to help us through different situations.  Each animal carries a certain "Spiritual Animal Medicine" such as Deer teaches us to be kinder, rabbit teaches us to listen closely, hummingbird's remind us to be joyful-These are only a few examples.  I plan on writing a lot more pages focusing on each animal, it will take a lot of time, but it will be worth it.
