Unique Photography from September 21, 2012

When I seen this leaf holding a small puddle of water, my first thought was it was a fairies pool to play in.  That is how the name came to be.  The Zazzle link for this is:  A Fairy Pool

This bright lavender patch of flowers are called Mazus Flowers.  They almost look like a tulip that is starting to spread its petal.  The Zazzle link for this image is:  A Patch of Mazus Flowers

I do not know what the name of this flower is, but I found it to be unique and beautiful.  The Zazzle link for this is:  A Purple Garden Flower

This small creek usually has flowers growing around it during the Spring and Summer. In the late summer early fall it usually looks like this.  The Zazzle link is:  A Small Creek

I really like this picture because of the uniqueness of it.  It is a weathered bench with aged moss on it and flowers growing through the rails.  It just looks like a bench that has seen some history.
The Zazzle link is:  A Weathered Bench

Symbolic Bridge

This is a very special Zazzle Design.  A friend of mine who has always been supportive and encouraging of my art and photography place a comment on another photo I did of a bridge scene from the Botanical Gardens.  Her comment was filled with so much wisdom and feelings that I asked her if it was okay if I used the words on one of my designs.  Being who this beautiful person is, she said yes and this picture is the design I created.

I had to search through my photography to find just the right photo and when I seen this one, I knew it was it.  I changed her words slightly but kept the true meaning of her comment.  If you stop and think about it, I mean really think about it, a bridge is very symbolic of the journeys that we have in life.  Every time we cross a bridge to get to the other side,  we are developing our own history.

When you stop and think about every experience we go through good and bad, each experience teaches us something whether we get the meaning or not.  Those experiences help us to grow and reach a higher level in our own life.  Often there will be times when we experience horrible sad things and we will think that there is no lesson to learn from this event, but instead we wonder if we are being punished in some odd way.  What did I do to have to go through this?  Why is this happening to me? Am I that bad of a person to have to go through this?

The Divine that I believe in, does not send hurtful experiences to teach us things, often things happen and it is up to us to understand a deep meaning.  These words really hit home for me within the last couple of months, the things I have experienced literally left me in a whirlwind and yet within the next two weeks I have to experience more.  I know for sure that I am not being punished, but I am going through these experiences to learn something very important.  What little bit I have figured out is this:  Life is precious and it is very short.  We need to take every moment we can and see all of the beauty in life and be grateful for every thing that comes into our life.  Because in a snap of a finger, our whole reality can be flipped and leave us in a whirlwind of confusion.

Moonflowers-RedGage

Enchanting | RedGage

This is a moonflower that I grew this year. I was excited about it because (like year-except I forgot) I was afraid they were not going to bloom.  But they wait for September for me anyway.  A moonflower is a very unique beautiful flower that not only smells enchanting, but is magical to see.  It only blooms one time, one night and than its life is over.  So for a short few hours, the world is blessed with their existence and there beauty until sunrise.

This photo is a moonflower at the end of its life cycle. The closer they get to dying, the more their scent goes away.

Wildlife Photography | RedGage

                                                            Americas Bird | RedGage

I took this photo at the Wildlife Center in Athens, Georgia.  This is one of a set of Bald Eagles that were together.  I am guessing since they shared a space that they were mates.

                                                                Bad Hair Day-RedGage

The only thing I could think of to name this picture is Bad Hair Day.  I mean look at that head of hair-sort of funky, sort of crazy, sort of cool-What's your thoughts?

I am sorry but I think this image is priceless.  I took it at a Wildlife Center in Athens, Georgia.  It just so happened I was at the right place at the right time.

I took this photo of a Black Bear who was waiting for his breakfast.  So to keep himself amused, he decided to play with this stick he is holding.  It was just a humor moment for me because my thoughts went to long ago when jailers use to run their cup across the bars to get someone's attention. Can you imagine the bear running his stick along the fence to get the park attendants to feed him?

This beautiful owl is only the second photo I have ever taken of an owl. The owl was a resident at the Hawk's home.  Owl and Hawk are able to share the same territory because both birds are bird of prey and both territorial.  However since the owl is nocturnal it is able to share the same territory with the Hawk because Hawk claims the area during the day.
