What is the definition for Homesteading? Broadly defined homesteading is a lifestyle, a simple life and/or a life of being self-sufficient. It takes you back to the days of the Wild West and the old pioneers that lived a very hard life and lived with very little. Homesteads today are living off grid, some consider it The Path to Freedom being able to live without electricity bills, phone bills, televisions and all of the modern day niches. It is getting up and taking care of your small farm and growing a good portion of what you eat. It is raising your foods without chemicals and pesticides, feeding your animals hormones and food that may not always be chemical free. Some may call it a "Simple" life, but working that hard to survive is nothing simple. What is rewarding is the connection from becoming a family again, and not having to depend solely on outside sources for major finances.
