This Moment

When we wake up each morning, I am not totally convinced that we can automatically determine what kind of mood we are going to be in. Now this is NOT how everyone feels and I am not questioning them.  I know that I have read numerous times that there are several things each of us should do every morning before even getting out of bed... supposedly that will set the energy for the day. Since I have been learning and practicing very hard to try and just live each moment to moment.. if I should wake up in a bad mood or a sad mood, I know it is because I need to go through that experience.  Why try to change something that very well could be something we need to experience?

I love what Joseph Campbell wrote: "People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life.  I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think that what we're seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive." That is from his 'The Power of Myth'.

How many times in your lifetime have you thought or have heard other people talking about and wondering what their purpose in life was? I have thought about it a little... to be very honest my thoughts were more along the line, what in the hell am I doing on this earth.  What many people do not fully understand is they may never know what their purpose in life was.   I could not for the life of me EVER understand the purpose of a murderer, rapist or child molester. I cannot even go there....

Many of us are like little babes trying to figure out how to live life and find fulfillment and meaning.  In that whole process a lot of life goes by wasted and not lived.  Joseph Campbell had the right idea.. feeling the rapture of being alive- the thought is exciting, scary and something many of us desperately need.  Feeling the rapture of intense pleasure or joy is something we often crave and need .. we need to feel a live and know we are actually making our own personal mark on our path and our journey.

In my world and because of different circumstances I have been through lately, I want to live each moment and be so grateful for that moment.  Because through all of my recent experiences the one and the most powerful lesson I have learned is: Life can be taken away in a snap of a finger... so here is to the rapture of being alive!

Emotional Power Within

Emotional Power Within

We are Goddesses

Finding Our Place of Power-What in the world does this mean? First I am not sure if "Power" can be described in the sense I am speaking about. The experiences you go through can explain "Power" because it is the things you go through that makes you create the inner power you have.

When you find your place of power it is the same as finding the inner God/Goddess part of yourself. It is reaching that part of you and being able to handle situations and experiences that you have gone through and coming out of those experiences with an understanding of what the experience meant. To me: the journey of you finding your place of power lies within the strength you used during your experiences and the understanding of the lessons you were taught.

We gain power by going through unexpected struggles, loss, betrayal, disappointments; things that make our reality spin out of control. The process we go through handling these situations is how we reach our place of power because we learn how to recapture our inner balance.

Homesteading-Living Off Grid

Self-Sufficiency

What is the definition for Homesteading?

Broadly defined homesteading is a lifestyle, a simple life and/or a life of being self-sufficient. It takes you back to the days of the Wild West and the old pioneers that lived a very hard life and lived with very little.

Homesteads today are living off grid, some consider it The Path to Freedom being able to live without electricity bills, phone bills, televisions and all of the modern day niches. It is getting up and taking care of your small farm and growing a good portion of what you eat. It is raising your foods without chemicals and pesticides, feeding your animals hormones and food that may not always be chemical free. Some may call it a "Simple" life, but working that hard to survive is nothing simple. What is rewarding is the connection from becoming a family again, and not having to depend solely on outside sources for major finances. You learn to live with little and become very grateful for EVERYTHING you have!!

A few years back my husband and I decided that we wanted to take our beliefs and put them into action. We became tired of talking about the possibilities of what we wanted to or hoped to do and instead we may it manifest!

That article is about Our Journey to Homesteading and the adventures we had. Three years later we are living life with only the memories of that journey, some good and some not so good. But the one true fact is this: Once you have lived a self-sufficient life, no matter where you live, you will always have part of that with you!
